About Us

Founded in 1945 as the Portage Figure Skating Club and incorporated in 1973, the Portage Skating Club has proudly served our community for over 80 years. As a not-for-profit organization, we are led by a volunteer Board of Directors and partner with NCCP-certified coaches to deliver high-quality Skate Canada programs.

Based out of Stride Place in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba, we are proud to welcome skaters from Portage and surrounding communities. Our goal is to provide a safe, supportive, and fun environment where skaters can learn, grow, and discover a lifelong love of skating.

Board of Directors

Our Board of Directors is made up of volunteers who are passionate about supporting skaters, families, and the wider community. They help plan programs, manage operations, and ensure that the club aligns with Skate Canada’s values. Their dedication ensures that skaters of all ages and abilities have access to quality programming in a positive, inclusive environment.
